Going Bananas ... Can Be Good

While it’s true that Bananas pack more carbs per bite than other fruits (because they’re lower in water), there’s no need to shun them.

Bananas are a rich source of potassium, which in addition to reducing blood pressure, supports muscle maintenance and acts as a natural diuretic that alleviates water retention and bloating; promote bone health. Their vitamin B6 also helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels and their fiber content boosts satiety and improves digestive health.

A medium-sized Banana provides 400 mg of potassium -11% of daily value- and contains 110 calories and 4 grams of fiber.

To avoid carb overload just be sure to choose “baby” Bananas, the ones that are about the size of long fingers, or stick with a five-inch portion.

Here area some Quick facts:

New Smart Credit Cards Comes With Digital Display and Keypad

MasterCard and Visa has announced that it will be rolling out new credit and debit cards.  The Card looks and feels like a normal credit or debit card but comes with an additional small display and a button that enables card holders to use the same card for standard banking payment functionality and to generate second-factor one-time passwords (OTPs), thereby providing strong authentication.

The new card is of the same size as a conventional credit card but features a miniature 10 digit keypad and a small display, and a battery that the Developer says lasts 3 years.

The new payment card is an innovative 2-in-1 device which ensures maximum security without the need to carry the additional security token device used now. In near future, this interactive card with display and keyboard is planned to have functions like indicating your available credit balance, loyalty points, recent transactions, and other real-time information.

What you got for collateral!!!

VERY RELEVANT TO OUR PRESENT DAY SCENARIO!

Here's one about the old native American who went to a bank for a loan for $500.

The bank's chief cashier pulled out the loan application, "What are
you going to do with the loan money?"

"Make jewellery and take it to city and sell it," was the response.

"What have you got for collateral?"

"Don't know collateral."

"Well that's something of value that would cover the cost of the loan.

Have you got any vehicles?"

"Yes, 1949 Chevy pickup."

The banker shook his head, "How about livestock?"

"Yes, I have a horse."

"How old is it?"

"Don't know, has no teeth."

However, finally the banker decided to sanction the $500 loan.

Several weeks later the old man was back in the bank. He pulled out
several rolls of $ 100 bills, "Here to pay back," he said. He then
handed the banker only the money to pay his loan off.

"What are you going to do with the rest of that money?"

"Keep in my teepee."

"Why don't you deposit it in my bank," the cashier asked.

"Don't know deposit."

"You put the money in our bank and we take care of it for you. When
you want to use it you can withdraw it."

The old Indian leaned across the desk,

"What you got for collateral?"

LG Display RevealsFlexible E-Paper

LG flexible e-paper, became a reality today, with the announcement of a six-inch display that promises to "revolutionize the e-book market." The malleable plastic display sports a resolution of 1024 x 768 and can bend at an angle of up to 40 degrees. At just 0.7 millimeters thick, it's about one-third thinner than similarly-specked glass displays, and weighs in at 14 grams

The 19-inch wide (250x400mm) flexible e-paper is almost as big as a page of A3-sized newspaper. Approximately eight times larger than e-books of 6-inch class, the product is optimized for an e-newspaper and able to convey the feeling of reading an actual newspaper. Additionally, as the product measures 0.3 millimeters thin, the e-paper weighs just 130 grams despite its 19-inch size.

LG Display arranged TFT on metal foil rather than glass substrate, allowing the e-paper display to recover its original shape after being bent. The use of a metal foil substrate makes the e-paper both flexible and durable while maintaining excellent display qualities. In particular, LG Display applied ‘GIP (Gate-in-Panel)’ technology which integrates the gate driver IC onto the panel. This improves flexibility by removing driver-ICs which are attached to the side of panel and hinder the bending of the display.
